Mazagan by the Portuguese that first settled the<br \/>area as a stopover on the India trade routes. They established a thriving port city and built a state of<br \/>the art fortress to protect it. The fortress and the old city of Mazagan still exist today in a well<br \/>preserved state of day-to-day to use. A walk along the bastions and battlements provides a view out<br \/>the city on one side and an overlook of the fishing boat port on the other. You will love watching the<br \/>small colorful fishing boats bobbing around the bay.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h3>Oualidia<\/h3><p>is a small fishing and holiday resort overlooking one of the finest natural lagoons of the<br \/>North African Coostline. Famous for its seafood, caught nightly by a small fleet of local fishermen,<br \/>and its oysters farmed along the lagoon\u2019s shores. Oualidia offers the best oysters and seafood that<br \/>you can enjoy while admiring a breathtaking view of the lagoon.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h3>Safi<\/h3><p>one of the oldest cities in Morocco, under Portuguese rule from 1488 to 1541 when they<br \/>have built a fortress to protect the city. Pottery is a mainstay of Safi\u2019s economy. Many pottery<br \/>schools are established in the city. Noor is a fantastic tour guide. He took my mother, sister, and me on a full day to Casablanca, where we got to see the city in just one day. We went to all the tourist places and the local spots that Noor knows well. Noor's English is amazing, which allowed my sister and me to learn high-level concepts about Morroco that we were very curious about. Noor's knowledge is extremely extensive, he knows everything! Noor is also extremely nice and a gentleman, he opened the door for my mother every time! Not only Noor was knowlegable, courteous, pleasant, friendly, he was also very attentive to every detail of the tour to Casablanca. The Hassan II Mosque is awe inspiring. Rick\u2019s Cafe was another highlight- charming and fun- and we didn\u2019t mind that it\u2019s a tourist attraction, we were tourists after all. Nour is very knowledgeable about his country, we both learned so much and got a real feel for the place. We particularly enjoyed the historical facts and sites he showed us- spots visited by the likes of Churchill, the original Casa Blanca (White House), and many more. Defiantly worth doing. It is about 3 hrs from Marrakesh, but Casablanca is a lovely city. We were sooo very fortunate to have Noor as our guide. He not only made the experience above and beyond, but one I will never forget. His knowledge and experience made the tour where you just didn't want it to end..... He explained not only the city and it's history, but Morocco and the cultures as well. Two points that warmed my heart......the 1943 meeting place w\/ Churchill and Roosevelt and the other was Noor treated us to the most outstanding fruit smoothie I ever had!
