Surfing in Taghazout and Excursion in Paradise Valley

Programme
Overview:
Taghazout is a small fishing village in the city of Agadir in southwest Morocco. The inhabitants are mostly of Berber origin. In recent years, tourism has become important for the local economy, and it is a popular surf destination. In the 1960s, European and American expatriates began surfing in Taghazout Bay. In the decades that followed, a surf industry emerged in coastal areas of Morocco such as Agadir and Essaouira. The latter is known for windsurfing and Taghazout is nicknamed the “Surfing Mecca”.
About 20 km north of Agadir, the Paradise Valley is made up of a series of valleys, rock formations, and natural pools at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains. It is an idyllic setting where one can completely get away from it all: mountains, valleys, palm groves, and Berber villages. It was the hippies of the 1960s who gave it its fitting name.
